In 1982, Gordon Insurance began its illustrious undertaking
of trying to become not the largest Independent Insurance Agency
in the Washington DC area but one of a few creative Insurance
Agencies. Solvin W. Gordon, the owner, does not believe to be
successful means advertise heavily, large staffs and pay for
Class A Office Space. Sol believes in giving to his clients
personal service with quick response to questions, keep his
insured's away from harmful leases/agreements and should the
need arise, be the point man for claims.
Gordon Insurance is part of the Independent
Insurance Agency System. This means G. I. has the means to understand
and locate the difficult needs of his clients. He has the ability
to use over 5,000 Independent Carriers to locate the coverage
for a need. The Direct carriers (State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide,
Erie, Liberty Mutual and the like) can only use themselves and
they do not like Hard Issues.) With over 20 years of experience,
Sol Gordon has seen it all (Hard and Soft markets, Coverage
additions or deletions, Carriers come and go!). Gordon Insurance
provides the services at no additional cost: Lease/agreement
reviews, Review of Financial Statements and Depreciation Schedules,
Loss Run Trending, Cash Flow Trending, and of course the normal
duties of shopping, proposals and exposure detections

Sol Gordon is a fifth generation Washingtonian. His background
before Insurance came from his other love, Real Estate. After
graduating from the Unv. Of Denver- The Burns School of Real
Estate, he took his education into Property Management as a
Certified Property Manager and currently maintains an investment
portfolio of Hotels, Apartments, Shopping Centers, Mobile Home
Parks and Land. It is the reason why Sol can offer such first
hand advice to Landowners, Trades and Wholesalers in the Real
Estate Industry. Due to his involvement with the Metro Police
Boys/Girls Clubs, DC, Solvin extends his knowledge about Nonprofit's
and their special needs.
